Assess Teams Transdisciplinary Orientation
If breakthroughs are going to be made by putting people together from different disciplinary backgrounds, they are going to have to have open minds and a willingness to explore ideas far from their own training and earlier work. One way to bring this concept to the fore is to have everyone on the team take an assessment tool called the Transdisciplinary Orientation Scale (TDO Scale).
Each person would answer each of the following questions, and afterwards, they would share their overall score and answers to particular questions. Discussion is expected to ensue and perhaps attitudes shifted to be more open for this project.
